Design for Social Impact Fund
At the Design for Social Impact Fund, we believe nonprofits can use design to achieve more significant impact and develop their organizations.
Nonprofit trend reports show that many nonprofits lack the internal capacity or funding to invest in design initiatives that could genuinely make a difference for the communities they serve.
The Design for Social Impact Fund aims to provide equitable access to holistic design services for under-resourced nonprofit organizations. We aim to equip nonprofits with the knowledge base, tools, and design services they need to make their causes impactful, easy to connect with, and impossible to ignore.
The Design for Social Impact Fund will be a single-entity fund established in partnership with a fiscal sponsor such as the Tides Foundation. All donations to the fund will enable under-resourced nonprofits to receive a grant to apply towards a design project that will result in greater organizational capacity.
How It Will Work
Individuals and groups donate money to the Design for Social Impact Fund 501c3 and receive tax deductions
Nonprofits apply for a grant to invest towards a design project
Idea2Form connects nonprofits with a network of service providers, tools and capacity-building resources
Some potential design projects include:
- Developing a brand strategy to foster buy-in from key stakeholders
- Overhauling an organization’s website and social media channels to increase engagement
- Implementing a post-COVID digital transformation to improve service delivery
- Utilizing narrative change and creative storytelling to shift mindsets
- Creating a targeted systems change strategy to address the root causes of an issue
